Research focus of the Centre

The PELINCEC center of excellence promotes research and disseminates knowledge on multi-disciplinary areas of power electronic semiconductor devices, converter topologies and control systems with special emphasis on novel intelligent control and information technology issues for energy conservation. The Centre is a technological bridge between countries of Eastern, Central and Western Europe.

Human Resources

The staff of the Centre consists of 62 persons (incl. 9 full Professors, 6 senior Scientists, 34 Scientists, 7 technicians and 6 administrative staff). At present there are also 48 Ph.D. students, about 60 graduate students at M.Sc. level.

Training possibility

The Centre offers courses in: power electronics, control and robotics. A very important part of PELINCEC activities is concentrating on short courses, workshops and specialized trainings for participants from industry, which creates knowledge by the need of modern technology in the area of activities of the Centre. There is also a opportunity for foreign students to study in the Centre on both M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels.

Scientific and industrial cooperation

The Centre has bilateral agreements with 17 foreign Scientific institutions from all over the world. The national network consists of more than 20 Polish research institutes and universities.

Since many years the Institute established numerous contacts with industrial partners. Currently it has the cooperation with the following companies: Newage (UK), Voltamper – Pretoria (South Africa), Danfoss (DK), MEDCOM (PL), APS Poland (PL), TWERD – Toruń (PL), POLSONIC – Warsaw (PL).

The Centre is operating in the following six Working Groups:

-                    WG1 – Power quality, head: Prof. Roman Barlik,

-                    WG2 – New topology of power electronic converters, head: Dr. Mieczysław Nowak,

-                    WG3 – Intelligent control and signal processing, head: Prof. Bartłomiej Beliczyński

-                    WG4 – Industrial information technology, head: Prof. Andrzej Dzieliński,
